The Arizona Working Equitation Club (AZWEC) is Arizona’s community for the rapidly growing sport of Working Equitation. Affiliated with USA Working Equitation, AZWEC promotes horsemanship, partnership, and the preservation of traditional riding skills through education, competition, and community events across Arizona.

Working Equitation is a dynamic equestrian discipline that showcases the versatility, precision, agility, and communication between horse and rider. Rooted in traditional fieldwork and cattle handling, the sport combines athletic skill with practical horsemanship and cultural heritage.

The sport includes four exciting phases:

• Dressage – precision, balance, and harmony

• Ease of Handling – navigating obstacles with control and partnership

• Speed – completing obstacles quickly and accurately

• Cattle Trial – working cattle when included at events

AZWEC hosts lessons, clinics, workshops, playdays, and shows throughout Arizona for riders of all levels interested in learning and competing in this exciting sport.
